Lake Eldora Ski Area

In 1973 was my first large venture and included assembling options on three land parcels: Lake Eldora Ski area, a 700 acre wooded estate to the south and a management agreement on 6,000 acres to the south around Moffat Tunnel. My partner was Byron Johnson, a former Denver Congressman with whom I formed N.A.T.U.R.E Associates. (New Approaches To Urban and Rural Environments). After completing an environmental assessment and laying out a ski village, the ski area owner, Tel Ertle, died and the deal unraveled. I was later able to broker it as a Corporate Retreat and recover most of my investment. We explored using the railroad tracks to bring people from Denver.
